New Mexico Bowl Tickets on Sale Televised by ESPN Albuquerque, NM-Tickets for the inaugural New Mexico Bowl are now on sale. The inaugural game will match a team from the Mountain West Conference against a team from the Western Athletic Conference on Saturday, Dec. 23 and be televised by ESPN at 2:30 p.m. MT, live from the University of New Mexico's University Stadium in Albuquerque. Football fans who want to be a part of this historic event can purchase tickets at the University of New Mexico box office or online at www. newmexicobowl.com.
Tickets are priced at $30 for premium seats and $23 for seating in the North end zone. Fans also have the option to purchase four tickets in the New Mexico Bowl family section, located in the South end zone, for $80.
"Our top priority is to make sure this event is accessible to everyone who wants to be a part of it, as well as grow it into a premier annual event in New Mexico," said Jeff Siembieda, New Mexico Bowl Executive Director. "Tickets are reasonably priced at an affordable rate to accommodate fans, who we hope will enjoy the game and the entire bowl experience."
"The New Mexico Bowl is not only a great opportunity for the University of New Mexico and New Mexico State; it also gives our city and state a chance to showcase its outstanding features to the rest of the country," said New Mexico Board Chairman Rudy Davalos. "We look forward to having solid attendance at the inaugural bowl."
In addition to tickets going on sale, the New Mexico Bowl website was launched, which offers information on bowl week events, sponsors, ticket information, updates on both participating conferences and visitor information about Albuquerque and New Mexico. The New Mexico Bowl is a newly created NCAA certified college football bowl game owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television (ERT). ERT markets and owns four other bowl games -- the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl, Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl, the Bell Hellicopter Armed Forces Bowl and the Birmingham Bowl.
