5:00-6:15pm Approximately 70 vintage cars arrive at the Embassy Suites north parking lot

5:45-8:30pm Car Show and Great Race

Details: The 25th Annual Great Race will stop in Albuquerque on Tuesday, July 10th. A field of race teams driving classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods and street rods will roll into town from 5:00-6:15pm to end Stage 10 of a 4,000 mile cross-country trek.

The race began on June 30th in Concord, North Carolina and Albuquerque is a stop en route to Anaheim on July 14th. Classic cars include a 1910 Selden, 1954 Jaguar XK-120, 1960's era muscle cars and a large contingency of '32 Deuces in celebration of the car's 75th anniversary. The Great Race event is partnering with the national Make-A-Wish Foundation with hopes of increasing local and national awareness about the Foundation's mission to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through a wish-granting experience. Local representatives will be on hand to provide information about the organization. Stage winners and overall leaders will be announced at 5:40pm followed by a car show and festivities to take place from 5:45-8:30pm in the hotel north parking lot.
